This never happened with the Insignia USB 2 Travel Hub. The Cruzer doesn't show on my desktop, either. When I plug a U3 Cruzer thumb drive (or any other pherical) to the Travel Hub, I get a message in upper right of my screen, "USB Device Needs Power / Connect 'U3 Cruzer Micro' to / power or a USB port on this Mac." Of course the only power source for your Travel Hub is the USB ports of my Mac. I use it on a 2006 MacBook Pro laptop, OS 10.9.5. Steam Deck has plenty of other essential accessory options to choose from at the moment as well, including portable chargers, Bluetooth headphones, and SD cards.I bought an Insignia USB 3.0 Travel Hub NS-PCH16430 to replace an Insignia USB 2.0 Travel Hub with a frayed cable. It's a nice way to easily expand the storage even further. Since the Steam Deck has a microSD card reader built-in, having a hub with a card reader isn't terribly important, but by and large it's a feature included on just about every multi-use USB-C hub. The requirements for powering your Steam Deck aren't too bad: you need at least a 45W power supply, so make sure any hub you get supports at least 45W and you're good to go. If you want to use a hub while still charging your Steam Deck you're going to need a hub with Power Delivery 2.0 or Power Delivery 3.0. The Steam Deck itself has only one USB-C port at the top, along with a microSD slot on the bottom, so you can either have it powered or plug in a USB-C peripheral. This, more than any other feature, adds significant cost to the USB hub, so keep that in mind. If you want to connect your Steam Deck to the internet with a wired connection, you'll need a hub with an Ethernet port. Most hubs offer support for the 4K standard, but Steam Deck's native resolution is 1200x800 so there's no need to seek out 4K HDMI support. Of course, if you want to hook your Steam Deck to an external monitor you'll need a hub with HDMI out. The Steam Deck is Bluetooth-enabled, so you can easily pair a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard, but if you would rather be wired, you'll need a hub with at least two USB ports. It basically comes down to your personal requirements. There is no hard and fast rule for choosing a USB-C hub for Steam Deck. What to Look for in a USB-C Hub for Steam Deck
